1 Timothy 6:9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.(NKJV)

Knowing fully well that the love of money is the root of all evil, God is warning us that we should watch our desire and quest to be rich, as a a matter of fact, He is not against us being wealthy only that he wants us to source same from Him. According to Deuteronomy 8:18 He gives us the power to make wealth to fulfill his covenant unto our ancestors, so the power, the ability, the creative thinking enshrined in the Holy Spirit as captured in Job 32:8 all resonates well with him and are to be our advantage. To cap it all in the words of Proverbs 8:18, God has riches and honor, yes durable riches and righteousness lie with Him. Only that He wants you to give to the poor and also stir clear of doing illicit acts all in the name of amassing wealth.
