Psalm 33:1 Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous! For praise from the upright is beautiful
Joy is different from happiness, the former resides in God, it is not depend on people, situations, results, systems etc. to come alive, it resides solely in God and requires our connection to Him to have it as a lifestyle hence we will not be situational or circumstantial in disposition and appearance.
That said, God demands praise from His children as a testament to the fact that they are reliant on Him and manifest Him correctly to the world and in the world. How do you feel when you understand what it is for God to be for you and invariably no one dares harm you ? How assuring is it that because you abide in God's secret place you are kept safely by Him? How confident do you approach things when you understand what it is for God to be your shepherd and you can't lack? These are words form the Bible that we need to sit with and condition our hearts to feed from and feast on for us to be joyous at all times.
Recall the Israelites pitched themselves against God by murmuring, being grumpy and throwing tantrums in the wilderness, not letting go of the past wen a future land that flows with milk and honey was in their very view but they chose to be faithless and incurred God's wrath.
Beloved can you take a moment to recount God's blessings ? Are you able to enumerate all ? That is a hack in our walk with God, when the Devil plays mind games with you, don't react from the surface, journey deep down, produce counter testimonies that validate your conviction in God and see him flee, be like David always, encourage yourself in the Lord, get the joy there in and get your mojo back on...
Grace & Peace to you
